Activity 2. Conservation

UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers participated to make a risk map of the damaged historical sites. And WH Volunteers did not only stone conservation and brick conservation work in Angkor archaeological park but also ceramic restoration in laboratory. 

 

Activity 1. Homestay in Run Ta Ek eco village

 

Run Ta Ek eco village is APSARA sponsored project to help create jobs and sustainable eco-tourism for the Cambodian people living near Angkor sites.

UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers did homestays in the village and had experiences to join local cultures such as APSARA dance, cooking Khmer traditional food and gardening etc. We also exchanged cultures by heritage education in local elementary school.

 

Activity 3. Code of conduct

UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers worked as heritage guardians for keeping Angkor visitor's code of conduct. Specially, when visitors want to touch sculptures in Angkor temples, WH volunteers put a restraint on visitor's wrong behavior.
